He has been described as one of the best trial lawyers some judges have ever seen. Mr. Roberts began his successful career at Vinson & Elkins in 1995, where he represented Plaintiffs and Defendants in business disputes and product liability cases.
Mr. Roberts is known for being zealous attorney that refuses to back down and has been the lead attorney on several Plaintiff’s matters that have resulted in substantial settlements.
After his employment at Vinson & Elkins, Mr. Roberts furthered his career at one of the premier Plaintiff’s firm in Texas, earning the title of Partner.

Mr. Markland enjoys courtroom advocacy in the most complex and high stake cases.
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Markland has tried more than 50-plus trials to verdict. His experience has afforded him a wide range of clients and trials where he has represented several Fortune 500 Companies, as well as former NFL players.
Mr. Markland has been awarded a Rising Star from Super Lawyers in 2013, 2014, and 2015.

Mr. Markland holds the position of adjunct professor at Thurgood Marshall School of Law where he teaches Trial Advocacy. He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Fisk University in 1997 and his J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2000.
Junior Associate Anjali Sharma was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Ms. Sharma attended the University of Houston and graduated with degrees in Environment Science – Atmospheric Sciences and Political Science.
Ms. Sharma then went on to attend law school at Thurgood Marshall School of Law. While there, she participated in mock trial competitions, became Review Editor of Law Journal and was President of the Community Outreach Program.
During Ms. Sharma’s first year of law school, she clerked with the Honorable Judge Maria Jackson in the 339th Criminal District Court in Harris County, Texas. In her second and third year of law school, Ms. Sharma became a contract specialist for a large construction company in Houston. Ms. Sharma then transitioned into an intern at Roberts Markland and has been heavily involved with the clients and cases since. Upon passing the Texas Bar Exam, Ms. Sharma was offered an Associate position.
Ms. Sharma loves being an advocate for her clients. As a trial attorney, she is passionate and aggressive in obtaining the best possible result for all her clients. She will work endlessly to make sure that all her clients are happy and is an invaluable asset to the firm. Associate Roberto Cantu was born in McAllen, Texas and attended college at The University of Texas at Austin graduating with a degree in Government and a minor in Business.
He received his law degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law finishing in the top five percent of his class and graduating summa cum laude.
Rob moved to Houston for law school and while living here fell in love with the city and community, and decided to stay in Houston to start his legal career. Rob is licensed to practice law in Texas.
Since being licensed, Rob has handled aspects of pre-trial discovery and litigation for a broad range of cases, including white collar criminal defense matters to civil disputes, defending both companies and individuals, personal injury cases, such as car accidents, premise liability cases, 18-wheeler accidents, catastrophic injury and wrongful death issues.
Rob says the most rewarding and satisfying part of being an attorney is getting justice for his clients and helping people. "There is nothing more gratifying than being able to help people who have been wronged."
